Where it is

Island Charters’ base in Cowes Yacht Haven is on the mouth of the Medina River on the Isle of Wight, the centre of West Cowes. It has 24 hour access to the Solent.

It’s easily reached by the half-hourly Red Funnel Hi-speed passenger ferry service or hourly car ferry service, both from Southampton Town Quay. Or it’s just a short sail away from our Port Hamble base.

Why we chose it

Internationally famous for hosting events such as Cowes Week, the Round the Island Race, and the Admiral’s Cup, Cowes is a mecca for sailing enthusiasts.

The key yacht clubs such as the Royal Corinthian, the Royal London, and of course the Royal Squadron are located here, often hosting the biggest sailing regattas. Island Charters can arrange for your event to be hosted – simply give us a call .

Other events such as the Volvo challenge and the Fastnet Race often have their starts off the Squadron line, offering great spectator views from The Parade.

Facilities available

Cowes Yacht Haven is considered a major international event centre and has conference and marquis facilities. The marina has excellent onsite amenities with showers and WC, and the marina office is manned 24 hours a day.

Walk out of the Yacht Haven and you are in the busy cosmopolitan town centre of Cowes – with a wide selection of restaurants, sailing clothes shops, boutiques, plus famous pubs such as the Pier View, and two well-stocked supermarkets.
